  The Story Troupe

The KIDS-N-CO. Story Troupe is one of the outreach components of the El Paso Playhouse KIDS-N-CO. This group of talented young actors tells stories to encourage literacy, plant the seeds of imagination, and introduce children to the wonder of books. A cross section of literature is used which includes ?Äì but is not limited to ?Äì cultural awareness, humor and drama.

The KIDS-N-CO Story Troupe has read stories at Barnes & Noble, the Bookery, the Mickelson Library at Fort Bliss, during El Dia de los Ni?±os at Washington Park, and they were featured in a segment of the EPISD cable television show ?ÄúCome Read With Me,?Äù where they read their stories for an audience citywide. Members from the Story Troupe also performed in ?ÄúSong of the Unicorn?Äù with the El Paso Music Forum (Early Music Consort), at the Chamizal National Memorial.

(Clockwise from the top the troupe are: Adrian Ortega, Stephanie Zubia, Jimmi Lupercio, Alexis Welch, and Cassie Vanwijk.

Directed by Ben Braden, Stella Gutierrez, and Mireya Rodriguez, the troupe currently performs at The Bookery on Socorro Road at 2:00pm on the third Saturday of every month and at Barnes&Noble at Sunland Park at 11:00am on the last Saturday of every month. They are also scheduled to perform at the library at Fort Bliss and for the Socorro ISD Literary Anthology Awards Luncheon.
